In PSHE this week, Year 4 have been engaging in thoughtful discussions about anti-racism and the importance of recognising and challenging unconscious bias. During today’s lesson, the children participated in an eye-opening activity where they explored their own unconscious biases related to different careers.
Through this activity, they reflected on the assumptions they may unconsciously make about who might be suited to certain jobs or roles. These discussions were a powerful way for the children to understand how biases can influence our thinking and the importance of questioning these beliefs.
Year 4 are now committed to challenging these biases and ensuring they approach the world with fairness and open-mindedness. It has been wonderful to see the children embrace this learning with such maturity and enthusiasm. Keep up the great work, Year 4!
