This week in reading, Year 4 have been developing their skills with partner reading to improve fluency. Working in pairs, the children took turns reading aloud and listening carefully, practising reading with clear expression, smooth pacing, and attention to punctuation. Partner reading has allowed them to gain confidence, build comprehension, and learn from one another as they discuss new vocabulary and clarify tricky passages together.
This activity not only helps each child grow as a fluent reader but also strengthens their listening skills and collaborative learning. It’s been wonderful to see their enthusiasm, support for each other, and focus on achieving fluent, expressive reading. Keep up the fantastic progress, Year 4!
