This week, Year 1 have been learning all about our five senses: sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste. To bring their learning to life, the children went on an exciting walk around the school garden to explore and use their senses in action.
They observed the different colours of flowers and plants, listened to the sounds of birds and rustling leaves, and smelled the fresh scent of herbs and soil. By gently touching different textures, such as tree bark and soft petals, they explored the sense of touch. To complete the experience, they enjoyed tasting a small sample of edible plants from the garden under supervision.
