This week in maths, Reception have been learning to recognise that objects are often made up of smaller parts. For example, a rocket is a single object but consists of different components, such as a body, fins, and a nose cone.
To bring this concept to life, the children used a variety of coloured shapes to create their own rocket designs. They had so much fun experimenting with different combinations of shapes to build unique rockets, while also developing their understanding of how smaller parts come together to form a whole object.
