This week in writing, Year 4 have been bringing their class reader, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, to life through hot-seating activities. Taking on the role of Edward Tulane, the children explored his thoughts, feelings, and experiences, using these insights to enrich their own writing.
As part of their learning, the children also focused on identifying the main clause and subordinate clause in complex sentences. They applied this knowledge to their writing, crafting well-structured and detailed sentences that added depth to their narratives.
It’s been wonderful to see Year 4 combining creativity with technical skills as they develop their writing abilities. Well done to all our budding authors!
