This week in maths, Reception have been busy creating and continuing repeating patterns using a wide range of resources and materials. From colourful blocks and beads to natural materials like leaves and stones, the children have enjoyed experimenting with different items to make exciting, eye-catching patterns.
By arranging items in a sequence and learning to spot what comes next, they’re developing an understanding of patterns—a key foundation in early maths. The children have shown great focus and creativity as they work to complete patterns, and it’s been wonderful to see them support each other and share their ideas.
