Thank you to everyone who attended Parents’ Evening this week – it was a pleasure to welcome you into school and share your child’s progress and achievements. If you weren’t able to make it and would like to speak with your child’s class teacher, please do contact the school office to arrange a convenient time for a meeting.
The children have been making the most of the sunny weather this week, enjoying playtimes outside and plenty of fresh air. We were also excited to introduce our brand-new Play Squad in Monday’s assembly – a group of pupils who will be helping to make lunchtimes even more active, inclusive and fun.
Next week, some of our Year 4 children will be taking part in Hackney’s first Dragon Ball tournament. We are looking forward to hearing all about this new sport and seeing how our pupils rise to the challenge, show great teamwork, and represent the school with pride.
Wishing you all a restful weekend; don’t forget that is school is closed on Monday 5th May for the May Day Bank Holiday.
Rachel and Jo
As the weather gets warmer, please help us keep children safe in the sun. In the event of sunny weather, we ask that all children come to school or nursery with sunscreen already applied to any visible areas of skin and wearing a sun hat.
Children in Nursery and Reception will soon receive a letter asking for permission for staff to apply sunscreen during the day. Please return this promptly so we can support your child’s sun safety.
Children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 should have sunscreen applied before they arrive at school. If your child needs to bring sunscreen in to reapply, please ensure it is clearly labelled and does not contain nuts, in order to keep everyone safe.
Thank you for your support in keeping our school sun-safe!
We are delighted to welcome Tobi to the Morningside team. Her role is to support children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing, helping them to feel happy, confident, and ready to learn.
