Sports Competitions
This week we have hosted St John & St James for two tag rugby competitions. On Wednesday, our year 3 and 4 girls and boys both played a brilliant game of tag rugby. Unfortunately, the boys lost 1-4 and the girls lost 2-3. Excellent effort from both teams.
On Thursday, our year 5 and 6 girls and boys showed off their rugby skills playing another fantastic game of rugby. Well done to the girls team who won their game.
Online Safety
Is WhatsApp safe for children?
Meta requires users in the UK to be 16 or older to use the app.
However, children and young people still use WhatsApp to connect and communicate with friends, family and communities. While this can benefit children’s wellbeing, parents must take actions to make sure their accounts are safe. Risks include inappropriate content or contact from strangers.
A tip to keep children safe on WhatsApp.
WhatsApp’s privacy settings allow you to restrict who can see your child’s messages and locations. You can also block users.

Looking after our mental Health
On the 10th October, we will be celebrating World Mental Health Day. One way we can support our own mental health is by getting close to nature.
We all live with worries and fears, uncertainties and losses that leave us sad, and pressures that make us feel stressed.
Nature can have a really calming effect on us. We have been living around other animals and plants for thousands of years. Some people say nature helps them feel calmer, more hopeful and less alone. Our research found that going for a walk was the UK adults’ favourite way of coping with stress during the pandemic in 2020.
Attendance Class of The Week
Each week, we will share the class, who has the highest attendance. This week, we want to celebrate 3M, who achieved 100%. A huge well done and keep up the excellent work; it has a great impact on learning and progress. At the end of the half term, the class with the highest attendance will receive a special reward.
Uniform
Jumpers and cardigans worn to school must be navy with either the school logo or plain. Please make sure you name each item of clothing.
PE kit, a white t-shirt and navy/black bottoms, must be worn on PE days. Now that it is colder children should wear their school jumper/cardigan on top of their PE kit.
Below are examples from Primark. £7.00 for two jumpers or £4.50 for a cardigan.
MMR/POLIO IMMUNIZATIONS 5th October
Measles has been spreading in London and high numbers of unvaccinated children means it
is more likely that measles could spread further as children return to school and start mixing
again.
Our NHS vaccination provider, Vaccination UK, is coming to our school to vaccinate those children still in need of these important childhood immunisations. This will be after school from 3.30pm on the 5th October.
Consent forms will be sent out next week.
