It has been a brilliant week at Morningside, filled with exciting experiences both in and out of school. Year 6 have had a fabulous time on their residential at Kench Hill, from outdoor adventures to team-building activities, and they have represented the school beautifully. The children who remained in school have also had a fantastic week, enjoying kayaking sessions and working on a creative escape room project, which they approached with great enthusiasm.
We have seen higher levels of absence over the past few days due to illness. If your child is genuinely unwell, please keep them at home until they are fit to return. However, children can still come to school with a mild cough or cold, as long as they feel well enough. Good attendance is so important, especially at this busy time of year.
Next week marks the start of our Nativity performances, always a highlight of the Morningside calendar. We cannot wait to see the children shine on stage.
A reminder that next Friday is a non-uniform day. Instead of money, we are asking families to bring a donation for the tombola at our Christmas Bazaar. Bottles, chocolates, toys and treats are all very welcome.
We were also delighted to welcome a very special visitor this week. Janet, our former Headteacher, returned for her first visit since retiring. She was so impressed with the school, the children and all the wonderful learning taking place. It was a real pleasure to show her everything that is happening and how the school continues to thrive.
There is lots more to look forward to as we head towards the end of term. Please see below for key dates and upcoming events.
