Thank you to everyone that came along to the community coffee morning. It was lovely to see so many parents/carers finding out about all the services you can access in Hackney. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. We will try to organise another community sharing session later in the school year.
It is always lovely seeing parents in class on Fridays joining in the learning with their children. Some parents have been asking if we will be having some whole school family Fridays. The answer is yes. We are planning on hosting a whole school family Friday once a term. More information will be shared soon.

YoungMinds is the UK’s leading charity fighting for children and young people’s mental health.
Their Parents Helpline is a free, national service which parents or carers who are concerned about a child or young person can reach by telephone, webchat and email. It is for parents with children aged up to 25 who may be struggling with their mental health and wellbeing and is free and confidential. We have lots of practical advice for parents from encouraging conversations to finding the right support. Reception and year 1 parents and carers are invited to a phonics and early reading workshop. Parents will get an insight into how early reading is taught at Morningside and how you can support your child at home developing their reading skills. You will walk away with lots of practical tips and ideas.

Tennis enthusiast Fab Mendes is offering free tennis sessions for girls aged 5-12 on Saturdays from 14 September onwards. These sessions provide an opportunity for girls to get active, learn new skills, and enjoy the game of tennis under the guidance of qualified coaches at Eastway, E9. NuFlow Dance Culture are running free Dance Classes every Wednesday from 18th September 4.30-6.30pm.
This group is run by Magdalena Wydra, Morningside’s WAMHS clinician. This is an opportunity to meet other parents of autistic children, talk through strategies to support you and your child and share your own experiences to help others.

The nasal flu vaccine is painless, quick, and side effects are uncommon and generally mild.
A letter was sent out this week with information regarding the flu vaccination, the two different options for the vaccination and also the link for parents to use to complete the online form. You must complete the form if you want your child to have the vaccination and also if you don’t want your child to have the vaccination.
