Welcome back to the Spring Term
We hope you all had a restful and relaxing half term. It was lovely to see all the children’s smiley faces this week back at school. We have a busy half term ahead. Our value of the term is compassion. This week in assembly we discussed what compassion means and how we can show compassion to others. We came up with lots of examples of what showing compassion would look like at Morningside.
We are continuing with class sharing assemblies this term. These will be every Tuesday at 9.00am. Please look at the calendar to find out when your child’s assembly is.
We have lots of trips and workshops planned for each class. Class teachers will share more information about these throughout the term.
Attendance
This term we are having a big focus on improving our school attendance. Now that it is getting warmer and the winter bugs are disappearing we are looking forward to seeing more children at school every day. Each week we reward the class with the best attendance. The winning class receives a fruit platter. You can help your child’s class win by making sure they are in school every day. We are also going to reward children with the most improved attendance. At the end of this term, those children with the most improved attendance will go into a draw and have the chance to win one of five vouchers.
Class of The Week: 2M 99.17%
Attendance Matters.

World Book Day
On Thursday 7th March, Morningside will be taking part in World Book Day. This is a day to share and celebrate our love of reading. This year at Morningside, we will be focussing on the traditional tale, ‘Goldilocks and The Three Bears’. All year groups will be reading a version of this traditional tale, and will be taking part in a number of special World Book Day activities. Children can come to school dressed as a character from this tale, or their favourite book character.
