The weather has certainly turned colder this week, and we want to remind families that children should come to school each day with a warm coat, hat and appropriate footwear. We spend time outside in all weathers, so please make sure your child is wrapped up and ready for winter.
We were incredibly proud of our steel pan band, who gave an amazing performance at the Hackney Steel Pan Festival on Wednesday. They played brilliantly and represented Morningside with confidence, skill and joy — a huge well done to all the musicians involved!
It has also been lovely to see so many families visiting our Book Fair this week. Thank you for your support — not only does it encourage a love of reading, but it also earns new books for our school. If you haven’t been yet, don’t worry — the Book Fair will still be open on Monday and Tuesday next week.
As always, there has been lots of enthusiastic learning happening across the school, and we’re excited for everything still to come this term. Take a look below for more news and upcoming events.

Your willingness to come together and help others truly shows the power of unity and compassion. It is inspiring to see that, when we work together, we can make a meaningful difference.
Thank you once again for your support and generosity.
Kind regards,

Toy Safety Alert: Please Read Before You Buy
As we all begin our Christmas shopping, we want to make families aware of an increasing concern: unsafe toys being sold online. Many of us assume that if a toy is available to buy, it must be safe — unfortunately, this isn’t always true.
With budgets tighter than ever, it’s tempting to choose cheaper options, but some of these toys don’t meet UK safety standards and could put children at risk.
To help families make safe choices, we are sharing a free Toy Safety Guide. It offers simple tips on what to look for when buying presents online.
Please take a moment to read and share it — keeping children safe is a gift we can all give.

This week, we want to celebrate 5M who have 99.1% attendance. A HUGE congratulations and keep up the excellent work; it has a great impact on learning and progress. You can help your child’s class win the weekly fruit platter by making sure they are at school everyday.
