Message from Jo and Rachel
It’s been another lively and inspiring week at school. The Sustainability Squad teamed up with Hackney’s climate officer to deliver a fantastic whole-school assembly all about air pollution. The children were fascinated by the big impact small changes can make—and they asked some absolutely brilliant questions too!
Year 3 had an exciting trip to the Sir John Soane’s Museum as part of their science topic on rocks and soils. It was a huge hit—one child even said it was the best place she’d ever visited!
A big well done to all our children from Year 1 to Year 5 for tackling assessment week with such focus and determination. We’re really proud of them.
We are looking forward to the Hackney Singing Festivals next week. Reception, Year 2 and Year 4 will be taking part. It has been lovely listening to them practising their songs.
And finally, with the sunshine sticking around, we’re reminding everyone to stay safe in the heat—hats, water bottles, and sun cream (applied before school).

Our Wonderful Reading Champions
As an acknowledgement of their efforts and hard work, the Reading Champions were presented with certificates by councillor Anntoinette Bramble at Hackney Town Hall. They have worked relentlessly to promote a love of reading amongst the pupils by reading favourite books to younger classes, recommending books to peers, conducting surveys, helping out at book stalls and managing reading spaces. It has been a pleasure to watch them thrive and grow in confidence in their roles.
School Uniform Discounts
We know that many families like to stock up on school uniform over the summer holidays ready for the new school year.
The following retailers are offering discounts on school uniform:
- Sainsbury’s Tu clothing – 20% off all uniform
- Aldi‘s back-to-school £5 bundle (two polo shirts, a sweatshirt or cardigan, and trousers, skirt or cargo shorts) will be available in store from 29th June 2025.
- Lidl‘s back-to-school bundle (two polo shirts and a sweatshirt, and a pair of trousers, shorts or a skirt) is also £5 and will be in store from 3rd July 2025.

Attendance Classes of The Week
This week, we want to celebrate 3M who have 98.8% attendance. A HUGE congratulations and keep up the excellent work, it has a great impact on learning and progress. You can help your child’s class win the weekly fruit platter by making sure they are at school everyday.
Our next group of 100% attendance winners were very happy to receive their prizes today.
