Christmas Nativities
This week, we enjoyed the wonderful singing and performing from all of our classes. We were treated to three different nativities across the key stages. The children worked so hard on their singing and acting skills, so I was really pleased to see so many parents and families come along to enjoy the shows. They all looked brilliant too. Thank you for coming, and I think you will agree each performance was a huge success. Memories made for sure! A huge ‘thank you’ to all the children and staff, you were amazing.
Christmas Lunch
On Wednesday, the children enjoyed Christmas lunch. It was absolutely delicious and everyone looked fabulous in their Christmas hats. A BIG thank you to the kitchen staff for preparing such a wonderful meal and all the staff who helped clear and set the dining tables. It was lovely to see the children and staff enjoying Christmas jokes and singing along to songs together whilst they ate.
Reindeer Run
On Monday 18th December, the children will be taking part in a ‘Reindeer Run’, to raise money for Homerton Hospital. The children will have the opportunity to run around the school twice with their classmates and teachers. A pair of reindeer antlers will be provided for each child.
Please send your child to school with a coin to put in the donation bucket, and ensure they are wearing appropriate footwear for the run.
Bring a toy into School
As Wednesday is the last day of term, children can bring in a toy or game to share with their friends in class. Please make sure it is a toy or game they are happy to share. No electronic toys are allowed.
Children are expected to wear their school uniform to school.
Football competition
On Thursday, the boys Key Stage 2 football team was back in action. They played with determination and confidence, showing resilience throughout the game. They ended up 3rd in the competition. Well done.

Festive Wishes

Merry Christmas!
After school clubs
An email was sent out yesterday sharing club options.
The club allocations are on your Arbor account. Children will be allocated club places once payments are made in full. We only have a limited number of spaces per club, so place allocations will be made by whoever makes the payment first. If a club is oversubscribed, we will add names to a waiting list.
Payment in FULL is due by Monday 8th January at the latest. Clubs are now done on a first come first serve basis. If payment is not made by this date, your child may not be able to attend and the place may be given to another child.
Clubs start on Tuesday 9th January 2024 and finish on Wednesday 27th March 2024.
Breakfast club is available from Tuesday 9th January 2024 at 8am.
Play centre will also start 9th January 2024 at 3.30pm.
If you have any questions please speak with the office.

Applying for childcare support for your two-year-old
From 2 January 2024, eligible working parents can apply for 15 hours of childcare for their two-year-old. Parents have until 31 March 2024 to apply for a code, with mid-January to the end of February being the optimum time to apply in case they need to provide further information to support their application.
To apply for a childcare code each parent needs to be working and earning the equivalent of 16 hours a week at national minimum/living wage and under £100,000 adjusted net income per year. This means that each parent needs to earn from just over £8,600 per year to be eligible for 15 hours a week of childcare during term time.
There is more information on the childcare support available to parents on the Childcare Choices website, where they can explore the early education entitlements and other government help with childcare costs.
Reception Admissions
If your child is aged 3 and 4 (born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020), they will be eligible to start reception class at primary school in September 2024. All parents need to apply by 15 January 2024, even if your child is already in the nursery class.
To apply please click here
If you would like any help with this process, please speak with a member of the office team.
School Uniform expectations
Children are expected to come to school in their uniform each day. This includes wearing navy jumpers and fleeces. Please make sure all items of school uniform are labelled with your child’s name.
PE kit – white t-shirt, black or navy tracksuit bottoms and school navy jumper/fleece on top.
Holidays during term time
Please note that we do not authorise holidays in term time under any circumstances. Parents & carers need to ensure that they do not book holidays or flights before term ends or after term has begun. Please check the website for our school term dates.
Medical Appointments
Parents/carers are asked to make every effort not to arrange appointments during the school day, except in emergencies. Please do not keep your child off school for the entire day unless absolutely necessary. If your child has a medical or dental appointment during school time, please inform the school office. You will be asked to provide a letter or appointment card.
Attendance Class of The Week
Each week, we will share the class, who has the highest attendance. This week, we want to celebrate 6M, who achieved 97%. A huge well done and keep up the excellent work; it has a great impact on learning and progress. At the end of the half term, the class with the highest attendance will receive a special reward.
