Itโs been another busy and uplifting week at Morningside, full of kindness, learning and community spirit!
As part of National Anti-Bullying Week, every class has taken part in special workshops exploring how we can all play a part in making Morningside a place where everyone feels safe, valued and respected. The children have engaged brilliantly in thoughtful discussions about friendship, respect and standing up for others.
On World Kindness Day, pupils wrote kind notes to their classmates, sharing messages of encouragement and appreciation โ a lovely reminder of how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
Today, itโs been fantastic to see so many children (and staff!) wearing pyjamas to school in support of Children in Need. Thank you to all our families for your generosity โ your donations will help make a real difference to children across the UK.
Across the school, thereโs been lots of exciting learning taking place โ from creative writing and problem-solving in maths to children really enjoying their new yoga sessions, which focus on calm, mindfulness and relaxation techniques to support wellbeing.
Have a lovely weekend.

Requested donations:
Toothpaste โข Garbage bags โข Bed linen โข Batteries โข Tinned foods (high-protein items such as fish) โข Flour โข Sugar โข Cornmeal โข Rice โข Feminine hygiene products โข Nappies โข Mop heads โข Bath soap โข Baby wipes โข First-aid supplies (bandages, plasters etc.) โข Nails and hammers
All donations will be sent in a container through Miss Carleishaโs churchโs ongoing initiative supporting the communities of Cambridge (St James) and Cold Spring (Hanover).
Every contribution โ big or small โ will make a real difference to families rebuilding their lives after the hurricane.
Please bring donations to the school office by the 21st November 2025.

Morningside is proud to support Hackney’s 10 x 10 initiative which aims to ensure that every Hackney child experiences 10 key activities by the age of 10, helping them build confidence, wellbeing, and a strong sense of belonging to their community. These activities include: engaging in exercise; having a musical experience; learning to swim; taking part in drama and performing arts; visiting the seaside and countryside; experiencing museums, theatres, galleries and heritage sites; going on camping trips or overnight residentials; learning to ride a bike; taking part in debating; using a library.
New resources are available on the 10×10 website.
To help teachers and families make the most of the programme, Hackney have added several new tools and materials, including:
– 10×10 Padlets for schools, teachers, families and children
– A translated 10×10 explainer
– An inclusive 10×10 Journey booklet for children in special schools and those with SEND
