School attendance
Missing a few days of school here and there may not seem a big deal, but research shows that it can have a significant impact on children’s learning.
Children who miss a substantial amount of school fall behind their peers, and struggle to catch up.
Most of the work they miss is never made up, which can lead to big gaps in their learning.
Attendance Class of The Week
This week, we want to celebrate 3M, who have 100%. A MASSIVE well done and keep up the excellent work, it has a great impact on learning and progress. You can help your child’s class win the weekly fruit platter by making sure they are at school everyday.
School Uniform
Children should not be wearing jewellery to school apart from stud earrings. Can you please make sure your child isn’t wearing any rings, bracelets, necklaces etc to school.

Play at Morningside
The children have all been enjoying our playground this week and it has been great to see the older children supporting our new children in Reception. It seems as though the autumnal weather is here. Please make sure you send your child to school with suitable clothes and shoes for the weather including a rain coat every day. If your child has waterproof trousers and wellies that they could bring to school in a named bag and leave on their peg then please send them in with this next week. As always, we would love any donations of spare raincoats and wellies your children may have grown out of. Please bring any donations to the main office. Thank you in advance
Seesaw
At Morningside, we value our school community and recognise the importance of parental involvement. We want our children to thrive and be celebrated for their achievements. Seesaw enables us to enhance our communication between teachers and parents, and provides parents with a clear understanding of what their children are learning in school. Seesaw is used as a record of children’s progress over time. New families will receive a joining code next week; for all other families, the codes will remain the same. If you would like a new copy, please contact the school.
Flu immunisation for pupils in school years Reception – Year 6
The nasal flu vaccine is painless, quick, and side effects are uncommon and generally mild.
A letter was sent out this week with information regarding the flu vaccination, the two different options for the vaccination and also the link for parents to use to complete the online form. You must complete the form if you want your child to have the vaccination and also if you don’t want your child to have the vaccination.
