As we reach the end of this half term, we would like to wish all our families a happy and restful break. A reminder that school reopens on Monday 23rd February. Over the holiday, please encourage children to keep up their reading and, if they can, spend a little time on Numbots or Times Table Rockstars to keep their maths skills ticking over.
This week, all children have taken part in wellbeing workshops as part of Children’s Mental Health Week, focusing on themes of consent, respect and kindness. It was wonderful to see everyone dressed up and shining brightly to mark the event and to celebrate the importance of looking after ourselves and each other.
Looking ahead to next half term, in PSHE we will be teaching a series of lessons focused on tackling racism. These sessions are built around the idea of being an ‘upstander’ rather than a bystander’, helping children understand how they can respond to racism and support others. By discussing these issues thoughtfully each week, we aim to educate children, promote respect, and ensure that every child feels safe, valued and supported at school.
Our Year 5 Tenerife group have had a fantastic first day. They visited a local school in the morning and worked in groups with the class to create presentations about carnival. In the afternoon, they spent lots of time in the pool and had great fun together. The children have been brilliant so far, perfectly behaved, joining in with everything and already making lots of new friends.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back after the break. Please look below for all the events coming up next half term.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

It’s been another exciting term of music-making across the school.
We’ve loved seeing the enthusiasm, creativity, and progress shown by our young musicians. 🤩
After half term, KS1 and KS2 will be creating and composing their own musical pieces, while EYFS will be learning how to tell stories through music. 🎵
Wishing you a Feb-tastic half term! ❤️

OPAL Build Morning – Can You Help?As part of our OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) programme, we’re continuing to develop our outdoor play spaces so that children have richer, more creative and more adventurous play opportunities every day.
We’re inviting families to join us for an OPAL Build Morning on Wednesday 4th March, 9:00–12:00, where we’ll be working together to build, create and improve play areas across the school grounds. There will be a range of jobs on the day, and no experience is needed — just a willingness to get involved.
We’re also looking for donations of OPAL materials, including:
You might be surprised what works for play — if you’re getting rid of a bath, a caravan or even a boat, let us know.
If you’re able to volunteer your time, donate materials, or simply want to find out more, please sign up using the link below:
