Welcome back. We hope you all had a fantastic break and if you celebrated Christmas, enjoyed the festivities. We would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year and all the very best for 2025.
We have had a fabulous first week back at school; everybody has settled really well and each class is enjoying their new curriculum topics. It has been so lovely to see how enthusiastic the children are and how purposeful each classroom is.
Morningside is pleased to welcome two new members of teaching staff: Panda Cox in 5S and Elizabeth Buckle in 1S. We are very happy to have gained two excellent and experienced members of staff to our team. We’d also like to welcome two teaching apprentices to Morningside this half term, Mimi Bilgetay in 4M and Saida Ibrahim in 2M.
As the weather is now very cold, please make sure your child is wearing a coat to school each day and that it has their name clearly marked inside. Please do make sure that the children are wearing the correct uniform to school and that they wear their PE kit to school on PE days.
We’d also like to thank you for your messages of support for our new roles at Morningside – we are looking forward to an exciting year ahead.
Information about what your child is learning this half term, PE days, trips and other key information can be found on our website.
We are delighted to announce that our postponed Eco-Swap event will now take place on Friday, 24th January. This is a fantastic opportunity to declutter after a post-Christmas clearout and donate any pre-loved items to a good cause keeping them out of landfill. Come along, share, and swap items to support sustainability in our school community. We can’t wait to see you there!
Please bring any items that you would like to swap to the main office during the week beginning 20th January. You will be given tokens that you can swap for items at the event. Items must be in good, clean condition. We look forward to seeing you there.
When: 24th January 2025
Where: Bottom Hall
Time: 3.30 – 4.30pm
Bring your items that you wish to swap to the main office.
If your child is aged between 3 and 4 (born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021), they will be starting reception class at primary school in September 2025.
All parents need to apply by 15 January 2025, even if your child is already at Morningside nursery.
You will need to apply online. If you would like any support to do so, please call the school office.
This week, we want to celebrate 6S who have 98% attendance. A HUGE congratulations and keep up the excellent work, it has a great impact on learning and progress. You can help your child’s class win the weekly fruit platter by making sure they are at school everyday.
