Welcome back, Morningside families!
We hope everyone enjoyed a restful half-term break and has returned to school refreshed and ready for the exciting weeks ahead.
Wednesday’s Eid Celebration Lunch and Bake Sale was a wonderful success, filling the hall with delicious aromas and an even sweeter sense of community. A heartfelt thank you to every parent, carer, pupil and staff member who cooked, baked, decorated or volunteered on the day—your generosity raised valuable funds for school projects and made the occasion truly special. Eid Mubarak to all our families who observed the festival; we loved celebrating with you.
Looking forward, get your trainers ready: Sports Days kick off next week! Class schedules and timings have been sent by email and are also listed below. We can’t wait to see the teamwork, perseverance and cheers from the sidelines that make our Sports Days one of the highlights of the Morningside calendar.

In the spring term, 4M planted pea seeds with their student teacher, Miss Mimi. We were so excited this week when Ayla brought the peas that she had harvested from the plant that she grew. Huge thanks to Ayla for nurturing her plant so lovingly, and to Miss Mimi for inspiring 4M’s green thumbs.
We’ve had a few cases of headlice reported in school recently. While headlice are a common issue, we know they can be frustrating for families.
Please check your child’s hair regularly and treat promptly if you spot any signs. If you do find headlice, please treat your child before sending them back to school to help stop them spreading.
Headlice spread through close head-to-head contact – not because of hygiene – and they can affect anyone. Simple treatments are available from pharmacies, and wet-combing with conditioner can also be effective.
It’s also a good idea to wash bedding, especially pillows, and check other family members at the same time, treating if needed.
Thank you for your support in helping us manage this as a school community.
This week, we want to celebrate 6M who have 99.5% attendance. A HUGE congratulations and keep up the excellent work, it has a great impact on learning and progress. You can help your child’s class win the weekly fruit platter by making sure they are at school everyday.
Our next group of 100% attendance winners were very happy to receive their prizes today.
