✨ This Week at Morningside ✨
There has been lots happening at Morningside this week. Our Year 5 children took part in wonderful workshops with the BBC Singers, exploring a style of music that many of us had never heard before. The children were completely captivated. One pupil said, “We had never heard any music like this before – it was amazing,” while another told us, “I’m so sad it’s over.” It has been a real privilege to have the musicians working with our pupils.
We are also incredibly proud of Thomas, who represented the school at a chess tournament at William Patten on Monday. Thomas won the tournament with an outstanding 12 wins out of 12 matches. A fantastic achievement – well done, Thomas!
A big thank you to the parents and carers who came in on Wednesday morning to help make our playground even more exciting. Your help makes a real difference and the children absolutely love the new additions.
World Book Day was fantastic, with so many creative and imaginative costumes across the school. It was also lovely to see so many families at the Book Bag Party, choosing books together and celebrating reading. Look out for the date of our next one.
As always, please see below for more news and upcoming events.

Thank You – OPAL Build Morning
A huge thank you to all the families who joined us for our OPAL Build Morning on Wednesday. It was wonderful to see so many people giving their time and energy to help develop our outdoor play spaces. Together, we built and improved a number of areas around the playground, helping to create richer, more creative and adventurous play opportunities for the children every day. The children have already been enjoying the new additions.
If you would still like to support our OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) programme, we are also sharing a link to our Amazon Wishlist, which includes items that would help further develop our play offer. Donations are entirely optional, but we are very grateful for any support.
Thank you again for helping make our playground such an exciting place for children to play and explore.
