No cars should be using Chatham Place at drop off or pick up times
We still have a number of parents ignoring the School Street Scheme restrictions. Chatham Place is a designated school street which means vehicles are not permitted to enter the zone during drop off and pick up times unless they have been granted an exemption. The scheme aims to tackle congestion, improve air quality at the school gates, but most importantly makes it easier and safer to walk and cycle to school.
The children’s safety is our priority and all adults have a responsibility that the children of our school are kept safe at all times.
All School Streets operate from 8.30am to 9.30am and 3pm to 4pm, Monday to Friday during school term time.
Playground update
We are really excited to share some photos of our new edible forest being created and built in our back playground. We are hoping it is all ready for the children to use after half term.
Play at Morningside
The children have definitely been enjoying the warmer weather this week. Once again, we hosted schools from across London and Kent to observe our lunch play. They were amazed at the provision the children receive and how much fun they have at lunch.
Bronze Healthy Schools Award
The Healthy Schools Programme aims to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people across the borough. The programme is underpinned by schools’ statutory duty to promote the health and wellbeing of their pupils and supports a whole-school approach.
The programme contains four overarching topics:
The programme recognises and celebrates those schools that are making a difference for their pupils and staff. We are happy to announce we have just been awarded our bronze. We are now working on our silver and gold.

Birthday Sweets
A gentle reminder that if it is your child’s birthday please don’t bring in sweets to be handed out to the children in their classes. Lots of children have allergies we need to be mindful of.
