World Book Day
On Thursday 7th March, Morningside will be taking part in World Book Day. This is a day to share and celebrate our love of reading. This year at Morningside, we will be focussing on the traditional tale, ‘Goldilocks and The Three Bears’. All year groups will be reading a version of this traditional tale, and will be taking part in a number of special World Book Day activities. Children can come to school dressed as a character from this tale, or their favourite book character.

PSHE – Personal, social, health education
In PSHE, our topic for this term across the school is “Healthy Me”. Each class will be learning how to be safe and healthy. Key Stage 1 will be discussing ways they can make healthy choices and medicine safety. Key Stage 2 will explore how to have healthy relationships with others and themselves, as well as raising awareness of the effects of alcohol, smoking and drugs on our bodies. We continue to use our PSHE lessons as an excellent opportunity for oracy and building confidence in communication.
Uniform
We are having a big push on children wearing the correct school uniform to school. Children are expected to wear school uniform every day. Wearing a school uniform fosters a sense of belonging and unity within the school community.
Please click on the link to see our school uniform expectations. If you need any support purchasing school uniform or black school shoes please contact the office and we will see what we can do to support you.
Attendance
This term we are having a big focus on improving our school attendance. Attendance matters and has a huge impact on your child’s attainment and progress.
Did you know? When children attend school they:
- Can achieve their full potential
- Have better career prospects
- Grow in confidence
- Keep up with work and homework
- Make good friendships

Behaviour Reward
Today, some children joined Jo to enjoy a hot chocolate treat. The children were chosen for improved behaviour. It is great to see children making the right choices thinking about why it is important to be ready, respectful and safe.
