#year6 has been learning about their local area. We’ve read about the Tesco #redevelopment taking place on #55morninglane and have created our own enquiry wall with questions about how this will affect the community/land use and biodiversity.
In #year6 this week we have been #sewing our very own #textilebags. We’ve practised different stitches, and added embroidery and appliqué to make our bags unique.
#year6 had the best trip at #hampsteadheath, exploring maps, making their own and then using them to complete an #orienteering challenge. They showed #resilience and #tenacity!
#year6 had such a brilliant trip to #thegardenclassroom last week, exploring the garden, learning about ingredients and making (and eating!) delicious #pizza!
Our #Year6 pupils are excited to engage in fencing sessions as part of their extracurricular activities this term. This unique opportunity allows them to learn the art of fencing, a sport that combines skill, strategy, and physical fitness. 🤺
#Year6 enjoyed their weekly #transition workshop today, preparing them for #secondaryschool. We looked at the importance of #mindfulness to manage our emotions and feelings.
In #writing, #Year6 worked in small groups using items in the classroom to inspire them for their own free narratives. We were inspired by @Mini_Stories.
Great morning in #Year6 showcasing some of our #science learning #GSSfS
In #spanish this week #year6 practised their #fonetica.
In #history #year6 role-played a reunion for the passengers on the #empirewindrush. We explored different people’s experiences of life in the UK once they settled and used quantifying adverbs to write a short paragraph response to our enquiry question.
In #Year6 #history, we used some facts from the 1960s to the present day to see if life in Britain has improved for black people in the last 60 years.
#year6 visited #BankofAmerica on Tuesday. They learnt about different employers’ roles, the variety of work that the Bank of America does to support sustainability and they had the opportunity to do a short tour of the bank.
