On Fridays each week we get together to celebrate success. The staff chose children who have worked hard, made progress, shown excellent attitudes to learning or reached targets to be celebrated. They are awarded with a certificate and (if we have time) share their work with the rest of the school. Each class teacher announces their Star of the Week. This is a child in their class who always follows our three Morningside rules and is ready, respectful and safe at all times. We also send postcards home to share good news with our families.

All of the photographs are shared on Twitter and Instagram and we encourage parents and carers to discuss these awards with their children and to talk about their learning at every possible opportunity. We also celebrate things that happen outside the classroom. Our Music specialist teacher choses a singer of the week and the pastoral team celebrate children who have met targets for their behaviour and punctuality. There are many sports awards given out and we also celebrate the achievements of our staff (for example running the London Marathon).
