Transition Day
On Thursday, all children met their new class teacher. They spent the morning getting to know their new teacher and classroom. It was lovely to see all children ready for their next phase of learning.
The end of an academic year brings a range of emotions. It is a time for reflection and celebrating achievements, as well as excitement with the summer holidays on the horizon. However, it is also a time of change and upheaval which can feel difficult and cause anxious feelings. These are normal feelings for children to experience.
Mindfulness activities are designed to help pupils relax physically and emotionally.
Children should be encouraged to do them regularly with the support of an adult, and when confident can independently practise as part of their self-care plan. Here is an example of a mindfulness activity you can practise with your child.
Sports Days
Year 1, 2 and 3 visited London Fields park to take part in our sports day event on Monday.
The children had a fantastic day and they all left the park with huge smiles on their faces. We would like to say a huge well done to all of the children; your team spirit and sportsmanship is something to be very proud of!
We would also like to say another huge thank you to Coach Kash and Miss Cala and all the staff that helped to organise, set up and run the events. A big thank you to the parents and carers who came to watch as well.

We will be selling raffle tickets at the front gate and the end of each day next week. They are £1 for a strip. We will only be accepting cash.
Hackney Music Festival
Reception children were the final class to sing at the Hackney music festival. They were amazing at singing different songs from around the world. They thoroughly enjoyed singing and dancing. Well done to everyone who participated.
Attendance
Illness
Children can attend school with a mild cold and cough. If your child has asthma, remember they may need their reliever inhaler more often. They should have a spare inhaler and spacer which they can use when they are at school.
Occasionally, coughs can be persistent and last for weeks. Children with bad or long-lasting coughs need to see their GP. No absences will be authorised for these minor illnesses.
Your child should only be kept away from school due to illness if they:
- Have an infectious illness which could spread to other people.
- Need care during school hours that cannot be carried out in school.
- Are so unwell that they are not able to cope with lessons.
Attendance Class of The Week
Each week, we will share the class who has the highest attendance. This week, we want to celebrate Year 1S and 3M who had 100% attendance last week. A huge well done and keep up the excellent work; it has a great impact on learning and progress. At the end of the half term, the class with the highest attendance will receive a special reward.
Lost property
We have a collection of lost property growing at school. Most of it is unnamed. Please write your child’s name in any items of clothing they wear to school so we can get lost property back to the owner.
School Uniform
It is expected that children wear the correct school uniform to school each day. Here is a reminder of what they should be wearing. There will be a stall at the summer fete selling cheap uniform.
