Ofsted Inspectors visited our school In September 2023. The inspector's findings were that Morningside continues to be an outstanding school.

Morningside is a part of the Primary Advantage Federation of schools and we review our policies on a regular basis.

Introduced in 2011, the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is additional government money given to publicly funded schools in England to help disadvantaged young people do well at school and narrow the gap, both in school and nationally, between them and their peers.

At Morningside we are strongly committed to PE and recognise the contribution of PE to the health and wellbeing of the children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum coupled with a wide variety of extra-curricular activities has a positive effect on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of our pupils. The children at Morningside take part in a wide range of activities both in and out of school. The Primary Advantage federation host regular inter-school competitions in a wide range of sports and activities. We also take part in borough wide competitions, galas and local events such as the Hackney Run.

In the event of bad weather we shall endeavour to make any decisions on the closure of the school and Children’s Centre by 7.30am.

At Morningside Primary School, we are proud of all the children’s achievements, whether they be sporting, creative, academic, personal or social. Every year in Key Stage 2, Year 6 pupils, by law, have to sit academic SATs tests. Our children do extremely well in these tests. The results are published every December for the public to see.

Morningside Primary School is an inclusive school where we focus on the well-being and progress of every child and where all members of our community are of equal worth. This is an umbrella policy on Equality and Inclusion.

The Code of Practice (2014) covers the 0-25 age range and includes guidance relating to children and young people with a disability as well as those with special educational needs (SEN).

The safety and well-being of the children here at Morningside is our first priority.  Children cannot learn unless they feel happy and safe.  We adhere to stringent Safeguarding procedures to protect the welfare of all the children who come here.
