A huge well done to our Year 6 children, who completed their SATs this week with resilience, maturity and determination. We are incredibly proud of the way they approached the tests and supported one another throughout the week. To celebrate all their hard work, they enjoyed a well-deserved trip to the park together.
This week has also been Mental Health Awareness Week, and it has been lovely to see so many children wearing green today to help raise awareness and show support. Across the school, children have been learning about grounding techniques to help manage worries, strong emotions and feelings of overwhelm. They have explored simple strategies such as focused breathing, noticing things around them through their senses, movement activities and ways to help themselves feel calm and present. You can see how to do some of the grounding techniques on Instagram.
Our Reading Champions and Art Ambassadors, alongside Miss Michelle, have also been working with the artist Matt Ponting to design some amazing new artwork for our corridors. The pieces are inspired by settings from the children’s favourite books, and we cannot wait to see the finished results brightening up the school.
This weekend staff and children will be participating in the Hackney Schools Challenge and the Hackney Half Marathon. We would like to wish good luck (and good weather) to them all. They have been training hard and are ready for action!
Next Thursday, we will be holding our Eid Engagement Day in school. Children will also be enjoying a special themed lunch:

As part of our OPaL (Outdoor Play and Learning) programme, we are continuing to develop our playground to give children richer, more creative and more adventurous play opportunities.
We have created an Amazon Wishlist with items that would really enhance our play offer. If you would like to support, you can do so by purchasing an item from the list and having it sent directly to school.
There is absolutely no expectation to contribute, but we are very grateful for any support. These small additions make a big difference to children’s play experiences every day.
