It has been a positive and productive week at Morningside. Thank you to all the parents and carers who attended Parents’ Evening yesterday. These conversations are such an important part of supporting children’s progress, and it was lovely to see so many families in school, talking with teachers about learning, achievements and next steps.
We would also like to congratulate several members of staff who have taken on new leadership roles within the school. Jack is now our Science Lead, Lavina our Music Lead, and Carleisha our PE Lead. These roles are key in developing the curriculum, supporting colleagues and continuing to improve teaching and learning across the school. We are very pleased to have such strong expertise leading these areas.
Congratulations as well to Sting on his appointment as our new Pastoral Manager. This is an important role in supporting the wellbeing of our children and families, and we are delighted to have him leading this work.
This week, Year 4 and Year 5 visited the Hackney Empire to see the BBC Symphony Orchestra’s Ten Pieces concert. The children were impeccably behaved and were completely absorbed in the music. Many have already asked when we can go again, which says it all.

Please tell your friends – all welcome!
As part of our OPaL (Outdoor Play and Learning) programme, we are continuing to develop our playground to give children richer, more creative and more adventurous play opportunities.
We have created an Amazon Wishlist with items that would really enhance our play offer. If you would like to support, you can do so by purchasing an item from the list and having it sent directly to school.
There is absolutely no expectation to contribute, but we are very grateful for any support. These small additions make a big difference to children’s play experiences every day.
