We kicked off the week on a high note by hosting a chess tournament on Monday. Despite a few last-minute changes, the afternoon ran smoothly thanks to the flexibility and support of staff, and the hall was quickly transformed into a welcoming competition space.
It was a pleasure to host visiting schools, whose pupils and staff commented on how comfortable and welcome they felt at Morningside. The organisers were also very appreciative of our support. A special congratulations goes to Thomas, who represented Morningside brilliantly and was awarded a Gold Medal for achieving the highest number of points — a fantastic achievement we are all very proud of. If your child would like to attend chess club on Mondays, there are still spaces – please speak with the office.
This week also saw our Irene, our Maths leader, running a Mastering Number session for families. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend — we hope you found it helpful. If you weren’t able to make the session, please speak to your child’s class teacher for more information.
Please note that next week’s planned session with Laura Stagg is unfortunately cancelled due to her absence. We will share a new date as soon as we are able.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
