Farewell from Miss Jo
I would like to thank you all for the support and kindness you have shown me during my time at Morningside. It has been a complete privilege to serve you as your Headteacher. The children make coming to work each day a pleasure and I always look forward to greeting them each morning on the gate.
I am incredibly grateful for having a fabulous staff team to work with, which I will really miss. They are all talented and dedicated and inspire your children to learn each day. They all work extremely hard to provide the best learning opportunities for your children and to ensure every child has the opportunity to flourish.
To all of the Morningside families, I cannot thank you enough. I have really enjoyed getting to know you all.
I have no doubt that this school will continue to grow and strengthen in the coming years. I am pleased that Jo and Rachel are taking over as co-headteachers, supported by our new assistant headteachers Gamze, Olivia and Sarah-Alice. They are all incredibly passionate about education and ensuring all children have the opportunity to thrive, and know our school community well.
I hope you all have a wonderful festive break and Happy New Year. All the best for the future.

Christmas lunch
On Thursday, the kitchen team treated our children to a truly delightful Christmas lunch, prepared with care and festive cheer. The dining hall was filled with the joyful sights and sounds of the season, as the children arrived dressed in their colourful Christmas jumpers and jolly hats, adding to the warm, celebratory atmosphere. The effort and skill that went into the meal did not go unnoticed, with countless comments on how delicious every bite was.
A special note of gratitude goes to Awa and the entire kitchen team for their hard work and dedication. Your creativity and commitment to making this event special have left a lasting impression.
Christmas Nativities
This week marked the start of our Christmas nativity performances, and what a wonderful start it has been! The children sang beautifully, their voices filling the room with the festive spirit, and their confident performances truly warmed our hearts. It was clear that a great deal of practice and preparation had gone into these productions, and I know we were all incredibly proud of their efforts and achievements.
A big thank you to the children for their hard work and dedication in rehearsing for these special performances. Our gratitude also goes to the school staff, whose support and guidance ensured that the children were well-prepared and ready to shine. Finally, thank you to all the families who joined us to watch and cheer them on—your presence and encouragement made the event all the more special.

Fab Friends Campaign
A group of year 6s have been working with Tender as part of the RE:Set project to create a whole school campaign around healthy relationships. On Wednesday in assembly they shared their work with other children in years 4-6 and were able to talk about what makes a healthy friendship. Here is a copy of the poster that has been shared with all children and that we will continue to use to support friendships across the school. Please take time to talk to your children about what is in the posters. The children will be visiting classes from Reception to Year 3 next week to share their campaign.
