Sports Days
This week, all the children participated in sports day activities linking to Olympic sports. It was lovely to see them having fun and displaying excellent resilience and sportsmanship skills. All the children participated brilliantly in the different activities and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Thank you to all the families that came to London Fields to support the children. You all contributed to the lovely atmosphere created on both days. The parents’ races were a fitting way to end the day and highly competitive! A massive thank you to Miss Cala and Coach Kash for organising the days.
Hackney Music Festival
This week, several classes participated in the Hackney music festival. This has been an opportunity for children to engage in dancing, and singing performances. All the children involved have showcased their musical skills.
Summer Fete
We will be hosting our Summer Fête on Friday 12th July from 3.30 – 4.30pm. We would love to see you all there. There will be a tombola, bouncy castle, face painting, book sale, cake stall, food, ice lollies, hair braiding, a raffle and much more.
We need your support to make it a great success. We are seeking donations for tombola prizes. On Friday, 5th July, we will be hosting a non-uniform day. In exchange for wearing their favourite clothes, we kindly ask each child to bring a prize for the tombola. Suggested items include candles, chocolates, a bottle of something, or any other desirable prize. Simply send your child to school with their donation. Thank you for your help!
School uniform consultation
Thank you to the parents who came to our uniform consultation session. It is always great to have parent feedback in decisions; your views and feedback were incredibly valuable. From September, we will be narrowing down the choice of colours the children are able to wear to school. Children are expected to wear:
- a plain yellow polo shirt, navy jumper/cardigan and black or grey bottoms.
- PE kit is a plain white polo top and black bottoms
- Black shoes
Wearing a uniform fosters a sense of belonging and unity among children. It helps build school spirit and pride, contributing to a positive school culture.

PTA meeting
The PTA will be holding our first AGM meeting on the 12th of July.
We are seeking parents, carers, and staff who may be interested in running for one of the elected positions. These roles can be shared, allowing you to split the time and responsibilities with someone else.
Please see the link below for more information on the roles available.
We cannot run the PTA without your support.

Transition Parent Workshops
As we come towards the end of the school year, we begin to think about what will happen next and preparing children for their next phase of education. Some children have big changes such as going to secondary school, starting reception but we recognise that any change and moving to a new class is significant for children. Over the remaining weeks of term, Magdalena from CAMHS will run transition sessions for parents and carers. These sessions will be an opportunity to find out about how to support your child with transitions and ask any questions you may have. Pia, our pastoral manager, will also be in the sessions to help with any questions. The dates and times of the sessions are:
18th June 9-9:45am
2nd July 2:45-3:30pm
16th July 9-9:45am

Outdoor Family Camping
Would you and your family like to try out camping this summer?
Worried you can’t afford to get away? Outdoor Family Camping helps Hackney families enjoy a week-long holiday in the countryside…
For the last ten years, Outdoor People have taken families from Hackney to spend a week under canvas on a working farm in Kent. These camping trips take place in August. You’ll join other families and learn how to pitch a tent, help feed the farm animals, pick fresh vegetables for dinner, toast marshmallows over an open fire and sleep under canvas.
If you’ve never been camping before but are willing to try, contact Outdoor People to find out more.
They will supply all the kit; all you need to bring is a sense of adventure!
As a social enterprise, they have a number of places available to families on very low incomes.
To apply, fill out this application form: https://forms.gle/XeGR6YTguBxd6T669

Attendance
Good school attendance is one of the main factors in determining your child’s future opportunities in life. Children who are absent from school regularly do less well in achieving their academic potential and have fewer career choices. Hackney education authority aims for all pupils to attend at least 95% of the school year. An attendance rate of 95% is generally considered good; this allows for children to miss 9.5 days across the school year. If your child’s attendance falls below 95% due to sickness, no further absences will be authorised, unless you provide medical documentation.
Classes of The Week: 5S 98%
The winning class is rewarded with a delicious fruit platter. Help your child’s class win by making sure your child is at school everyday next week.
