Hackney 1 Mile
On Saturday, some of our children participated in the Hackney 1 Mile Schools’ Challenge. Over 1,000 school children joined the Schools’ Challenge this year. Our children were absolutely amazing and managed to run really well. It was great having the parents watching and cheering them on.
Walk to School Week
This week is walk to school week where children are encouraged to walk, ride, scoot or bus/walk to school each day. If they travel actively every day, they get rewarded with a WOW badge. The class with the highest recorded amount of children walking to school over the week will be rewarded with a fruit platter and certificate.
Medical Tracker
RE: Roll out of Medical Tracker: phase 2
As you know we try very hard to keep parents regularly informed about first aid incidents and medication administration at school. Sending paper notifications home can often be problematic with slips often going astray along the way.
Over the last half term, we have been using Medical Tracker to record and track medication administration. From Monday 3rd June, we will record and track first aid incidents that involve your child, and you will be notified immediately after a first aid incident by email. We will still call parents and carers about head injuries and significant incidents. From next half term, you will no longer receive paper slips; these will be replaced with email notifications.
IMPORTANT – When we start using Medical Tracker, email messages will be sent from donotreply@medicaltracker.co.uk. Please add this address to your email address books (or approved sender list) to prevent messages from being blocked by your SPAM/JUNK filters.
Please speak with us at the gate if you have any questions.

Reimagining Amhurst Rd and central Hackney as a greener, more playful space!
Hackney council have asked Outdoor People to organise a walking consultation THIS SATURDAY on Central Hackney’s plans to be greener and wilder – and make sure they are more playful, too!
Where: Meet up at Outdoor People Community Shop E8 1HR
When: Saturday, 25 May 10:45 – 12
We want to help the designers make the new-look Amhurst Road a greener, healthier, and more PLAYFUL space for the children of central Hackney!
So we’re inviting families for an exploration around the area. You can show us what you love and hate, and what you dream your community could have!
This is a chance for children, young people, parents, and carers to share YOUR ideas to help create the public space YOU want to see.
There will be snacks and drinks at the start and finish, and everyone joining will get some Hackney Wild Walks maps to take home.
