PTA bake sale
Thank you to everyone who helped, donated and bought cakes at our first PTA cake sale. We raised £116.25. We are hoping to have another PTA event before the end of this school year.
Good luck year 6
Next week, year 6 will be completing their SATs tests. They have worked incredibly hard and should be proud of all the progress they have made this year. We certainly are! They have shown excellent determination and resilience with their learning. We would like to wish them all the best and know that they will be absolutely amazing.
Mental Health Awareness Week
Next week is mental health awareness week. This is an annual event where there is an opportunity to focus on supporting good mental health. The theme for this year is Movement: moving more for our mental health. Being active is essential for our mental health. Through the theme, we want to help our children to find moments for movement in their daily routines.
All children will be engaging in activities to support their awareness of mental health and children from reception to year 4 will be engaging in workshops delivered by Young Hackney.
Wear it Green Day
On Friday 17th May we are asking all children to wear something green in recognition of good mental health.
Cluster Music festival
On Thursday, we hosted a cluster music festival where children from two other schools came to join our choir to perform some songs. Each school performed a song and then all the schools performed together. It was lovely to hear the sound of all the beautiful voices singing together. We have some very talented children in our school.
Reading at Home
At Morningside, we celebrate reading in school every day, and we would like to help you to do the same at home. It is really important that children come to school with a book bag and their reading record each day. If your child does not have a Morningside book bag, they can bring a non school bag instead. The important part is bringing a bag every day. In EYFS and KS1, books get changed every Thursday. In KS2 children change and update their books once completed. If you would like any help with book bags and filling out your child’s reading record, please ask the class teacher.
Birthday Sweets
A gentle reminder that if it is your child’s birthday please don’t bring in sweets to be handed out to the children in their classes. Lots of children have allergies we need to be mindful of.
